What makes these ribs AIP Friendly?
AIP stands for the Autoimmune Protocol and those of us living with an autoimmune disease know foods that cause inflammation can wreak havoc on our pain levels. Foods like tomatoes, sugars, Worcestershire sauce, seeds, and peppers (you know those things commonly found in BBQ sauce), are all to be avoided. However, THIS sweet and savory BBQ sauce uses only ingredients that are on the "Yes!" list for those of us autoimmune suffers. However, have no fear about the taste. These BBQ ribs are amazing. You'll never know the difference.

How easy is easy?
These ribs are super easy to make, require very little prep and only a few ingredients.

To make the ribs for 5 people, you'll need:
  • 6lbs ribs, country style boneless or your favorite bone in ribs
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 cloves of garlic
That's it!

While your ribs are cooking, it's time to make your BBQ sauce.
AIP BBQ Sauce

In a larger blender (I use my ninja, but you could also use an immersion blender), blend up:
1/2 cup onion
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup apple sauce
3 tablespoons coconut aminos
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons pumpkin mash
1 tablespoons molasses
1 clove garlic
1 tablespoon ginger, plus 1/2 teaspoon
1/2 tablespoon salt
1/2 teaspoon fish sauce
2 tablespoons bone broth

Heat up on the stove about 15 minutes until the ingredients reduce and thicken.

As long as you use newly opened ingredients or fresh cut, your BBQ sauce will stay good in the fridge for a week. This recipe makes 1 cup of sauce.

And your done! AIP compliant, so easy, and so delicious!
